The province of Ciego de Avila is located in Central Cuba between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.

Moron
Moron, located in the north of Ciego de Avila, is a nice little town, which is considered a top destination for anglers and hunters.
Not far from the city there is the largest natural lake in Cuba - the Laguna de la Leche. Here you can fish for example perch fish.
The nearby Laguna de la Redonda is well known for its huge specimens of black sea bass.
Hunting enthusiasts will find their territory at the Reserva de Aguachales de Falla, populated by ducks and pigeons.
In addition, Moron is a good home base for a day trip to the paradisiacal islands of Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo. This can be the cheapest way to know these dream beaches.
Ciego de Avila Beaches
The islands in the north of the Ciego de Avila province, with all the extensive postcard beaches and surrounded by colorful coral reefs, undoubtedly established the excellent reputation of the province between tourists.
This island group, known as Jardines del Rey (Gardens of the King), are absolutely spectacular.

Cayo Coco

Playa Pilar - perhaps the most beautiful beach in Cuba - is located on the Cayo Guillermo, bearing its name of the boat belonged to Ernest Hemingway.
The Playa Pilar beach is free of hotels and only a wooden bar invites you to have a cool drink enjoying stunning sea views.
The beach itself is divided by up to 15 m high overgrown dunes.

Jardines de la Reina
80 km off the southern coast of the Ciego de Avila province lies the Jardines de la Reina (Gardens of the Queen) archipelago.
These remote islands offer excellent conditions for divers, anglers and birdwatchers.
Accessible only by boat from the coastal town of Embarcadero de Jucaro, the nature of the Jardines de la Reina is still untouched and intact, both above and below the water.
The resident hammer and whale sharks attract divers from all over the world. Ospreys, pelicans and herons make happy the ornithologists.
