• The quality of life is higher in the "richest" and greenest areas of the city, Vedado, Miramar and Playa. Many houses here have gardens and terraces.
  Price: 40 - 100 CUC.
  Advice: You have to take into account the transportation costs to get to the old city center with most of the things to see. Depending on the distance, a taxi can cost between 5 and 15.00 CUC.
• Who seeks more privacy, will opt for an entire holiday apartment in Havana.
  With several travel companions, the price doesn't go up too much compared to a simple hostel room.
  The price for each room in an apartment ranges between 20 and 40.00 CUC, depending on the location and facilities.
  Living in a private apartment you are completely independent and the kitchen at home saves money.
• Accommodation on the beach in Havana probably is the most relaxed option. At Playas del Este, about 20 km from the city, you can combine a beach vacation with exploring the Cuban capital.
  Prices vary between 30 and 100 CUC, depending on the type and location of the house.
  To get to the center, take the bus (5.00 CUC) or a taxi for about 15-20.00 CUC.

• The city center of Havana is about 10 km away from the José Marti airport (HAV). There is no public transport, so that the traveler depends on a taxi or rental car.
• Some hostels offer pick up service from the airport. This service can be a bit more expensive, because the taxi first has to get to the airport and also to wait for your arrival.
• The price for a taxi is about 20-30 CUC. As usual in these cases it's advisable to agree the fare before the trip. The driver will take you to your rented home and helps you with your luggage.
• Advice: There were cases in which the driver wants to convince the tourist, that the booked hostel no longer exists or something similar. Ignore! Just insist in the given address of your booked casa particular. The driver probably wants to take you to alternative rental and charge a commission from the landlord.
• If you were on a bus trip in other regions of Cuba and return to Havana, you will arrive at the Central Bus station.
  To get to the center, you have to take a taxi. The distance to Vedado, Centro Habana and Old Havana is between 4 and 8 km. The price shouldn't be higher than 10.00 CUC.

• Many apartments now offer Wi-Fi in the house.
  However, you still need the prepaid cards, which you can get at the stores of the telephone company ETECSA (1.00 CUC / h).
• With these cards you can use all public Wi-Fi zones in Cuba. In Havana, you can find them on the Malecón waterfront and in many squares in the city. Ask your host!
•  If you need to be connected 24 hours, you can buy a Cuban SIM card with 3G / LTE.
