Playa is a quiet, green residential area where you can escape the crowds in the center of the city of Havana. There are many fine addresses here in the western part of the Cuban capital, such as the Tropicana, many better restaurants and clubs as well as the delphinium (Aquario Nacional).
The best way to get to the historic center is to head east for a few CUC. Then you can drop off at the Malecón embankment and walk towards Centro and Habana Vieja.
